Epano Chrepas Monastery is a women's monastery dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin.
A road leads to the monastery from Tripoli, from which it is 10 km. The road passes through the village of Perthori.
The Monastery is built on a slope of Mount Mainalo, at an altitude of 1278m. It is the monastery of the Peloponnese that is located at the highest altitude and is therefore visible even from Tripoli.
It was founded and built at the beginning of the 11th century.
Preserved in the monastery are the chalice with which Theodoros Kolokotronis received communion of the Immaculate Mysteries as well as the Gospel he embraced shortly before attacking for the liberation of Tripolitsa.
The location of the monastery offers a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Mandikeian plateau, while the view reaches as far as Parnon and Taygetos!..
