The monastery of Ampelaki was founded in the 19th century, and is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin. Today it is a women's monastery and celebrates on September 8.
It is located in eastern Falesia, built in a prominent position while surrounded by an imposing landscape, at the foot of Taugetos and stuck to a steep rock.
The surrounding area is verdant while the monastery offers an excellent view of the green plain. Lower down, the river Evrotas passes majestically
