After the destruction of the old monastery of Agios Dionysios in 1943, a new monastery was built in Metohi of Skala, near Litochoro in the region of Skala. It was built by the young monks who founded a new brotherhood in 1987.
In the new monastery, the church is particularly majestic, while it is worth admiring the iconostasis of the church whose hagiographies were created by the great iconographer Fotis Kontoglou. The Ecclesiastical Museum of the Monastery is also of interest, and they will be happy to show you around.
