It is a women's Monastery built on a hill of Mount Pangaio, west of the community of Nikisiani. Above the monastery is the source from which the Holy Spirit of Agia Varvara flows, where the church of Agios Dimitrios was located here since 1913. The current Monastery was built in 1973 under Metropolitan Ambrosios of Eleftheroupolis and with the help of the benefactor Georgios Lazaridis (marble founding inscription). The monastic complex consists of the church of Agios Dimitrios (cross-shaped with a dome with a large narthex), the church of Theotokos Gorgoepikou (built in 1994), three-story buildings that house cells for the nuns, hostels, workshops and other auxiliary spaces. On Good Friday, there is a reenactment of Jesus' journey to Golgotha, which ends on the hill opposite the Monastery.
