The Paleokastro Monastery is an 18th century nunnery and is a typical example of monastic architecture of the Cyclades. It was named so, from the neighboring hill "Paliokastro" and is built on the remains of an ancient fortification. In this area, one of the two ancient cities of Mykonos is recognized.
