It is located in the southern part of the island, in Halakas. The Monastery was built in 1582.
Folk tradition says that on the feast of the Saint, pirates appeared and were quickly noticed by the world. They locked themselves in the church and after prayers the door was "ironed" so the pirates could not open it. Then one of them climbed onto the roof holding a pistol, and after passing his hand he pointed at the worshippers. Then it is said that the Saint performed his miracle and the pirate's hand "withered" and the pistol fell into the church, where it is kept.
