The Monastery of Saints Anargyros Cosmas and Damianos is located near the ancient Poiiessa. It was called the Monastery of Makryna because of the long distance that separates it from Ioulida, the capital of the island. The site never functioned as a monastery. The building complex includes the temple, courtyard and ground floor buildings. The church of Saints Anargyro, built around 1930, is single-aisled, white with a blue border and a triangular facade that ends in a domed bell tower. Inside it has a mosaic floor and a vaulted ceiling with a representation of the starry sky. The church, which belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Syros, celebrates on July 1st and November 1st.
