North-west of the plain of Fourni, at an altitude of 400 meters, you can see the Monastery of Keramos (or Monastery of Sotiros - Afentis Christou). Due to its location but also based on the layout of the buildings around the temple and the absence of openings in the exterior structure, the researchers concluded that it is a fortress-type Monastery. It is likely that it was founded by the Katzaras family before 1615. The Monastery is mentioned in documents from the time of the Venetian and Turkish occupations. According to the 1881 census, three monks and four laymen lived in the monastery. The church of the Transfiguration of the Savior is a single-aisled vaulted church. On the south wall is the entrance with an engraved inscription with the names of the owners (priest G. Katzaras and his children) and the date 1644.
Today the monastic complex, with the temple and the monks' cells, is in ruins and abandoned.
