The Parthenon nunnery is located in the Kastelli area, in the province of Kissamos, and is dedicated to Panagia Zoodocho Pigi. The establishment of the Monastery, the construction of the church and the Cemetery (on the south side) date back to 1910 under Bishop Anthimos Leledakis. The small temple of Zoodochos Pigi has a cruciform shape after a dome. The iconography was recently carried out by the iconographer Giannakakis. On the right side of the church are the tombs of bishops Dorotheos Klonaris and Anthimos Leledakis and on the left side are the tombs of Chrysostomos Angelidakis and Evdokimos Syngelakis. Around the central courtyard are the refectory, the abbot, the monks' cells and their workshops. The Monastery originally housed the Women's Urban School where young girls were trained in various arts (hagiography, weaving, music, embroidery..etc.). Today, 10 nuns remain in the Monastery. Celebrates Panagia Zoodochos Pigi on Good Friday.
