At a short distance and north of the settlement of Kastri is the monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin of Siutista. It is a one-room basilica with a wooden roof (painted in 1913). In the aforementioned monastery there is the icon of Panagia Odegitra dated to the year 1586. An inscription outside the monastery states that it was renovated in 1909. According to a statement by the abbot of Agapios, the monastery owned "irrigated and dry fields (119 acres) from which on 1/10 was given to the spakh Yakum Pesvanbei and in 1865 "to the royal haznen". Also, the monastery used to function as an insane asylum in the province, where mainly young people with mental illnesses went and the abbot tried to bring them to their senses with wood, fasting and binding. Even today paraphernalia of the methods he used (jacks, chains) are still in place.
