The Monastery of Evangelistria Ano Pedina is located at the entrance of the village of Ano Pedina (Ano Sudena), at the foot of Kato Mahala. The catholicon of the monastery is a domed basilica with a narthex and three apses to the east. The construction took place, according to an inscription, in 1793.
The church was built in 1809 with a donation from Christodoulos Marinos and his wife. The wall of the monastery was built earlier, in 1783 or 1786. The iconostasis, the episcopal throne and the pulpit of the church are carved in wood. The central part of the iconostasis, the door leading to the sanctuary and the pulpit are gilded. Remarkable images of the 18th century. there are in the Monastery: Christ Pantokrator (1795), Dormition of the Virgin (1810), the painter Lazarus and his nephew, etc. In the left aisle of the main church and in a small inner dome are depicted Solon, the Sibyl, Plato, Thucydides, Aristotle and Plutarch.
Precious relics, which are kept in the monastery, are a Gospel with a silver lining and 2 reliquaries. The monastery today has a fortress-like appearance, with high walls on the north-east side and cells on the south-west. The holy festival of the Monastery is during the feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin.
