In the capital village of Agios Mattheos (Ai Mathias), in the region of Mesis, 10 km from Corfu, the Pantokratoros Monastery is located. The now-dissolved Monastery, built on the slope of Mount Agios Mattheos, probably dates back to the beginning of the 14th century. In the area there are various abandoned buildings as well as the church of Pantokratoros. The temple is of royal style with arched doors and windows and a sloping roof. It celebrates solemnly with an all-nighter on August 6.
