The hieromonk Sophronios from the village of Peroulades, in the year 1800, founded the Holy Women's Sanctuary of Pantokratoros Kamarelas, in the area of St. Slaves.
The Church of Hesychastiri was inaugurated around 1810. Then, in 1890, the new Catholic Church was founded, which is also dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior.
It is located in a beautiful location, surrounded by dense forests and abundant water due to the large spring "Kamarela" which is located within its area.
In the Hermitage valuable holy icons and several relics of spiritual and artistic value are preserved.
It has 3 chapels, among them the old Catholic one in which great frescoes are preserved in relatively good condition.
The Holy Sanctuary celebrates August 6, the feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
