The Holy Monastery of Agios Dimitrios of Agios Doulas is located in the northern part of the island, at a distance of 30 km from the city of Corfu. On the site of the current Monastery, there was a small 16th century church, dedicated to the Great Martyr Dimitrios Myrovlytis. This temple belonged to the neighboring villages of Valaneio, Agioi Douloi and Xanthates.
The Catholic Church of the Monastery is dedicated to Saint Demetrius the Myroblytis. It is built according to the traditional Corfu church architecture.
The Holy Monastery celebrates on October 26 the memory of Saint Demetrius.
