Northeast of the city of Samos, at an altitude of about 300 meters, is the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigis. The visitor can enjoy the beautiful view towards the straits of Mykali and the depths of Asia Minor. The monastery was built in 1756 by the hieromonk Dorotheos and has frescoes, sacred vessels and a wonderful wood-carved iconostasis.
