Southeast of the island, near Lindos, in the area of Lardos is the virgin forest of Igos, which gave its name to the Monastery of Agios Georgios (or Igos). It is a small renovated church built at the base of a rocky hill. One side of the church dates back to the 13th century. The temple is single-aisled with a sloping roof covered with tiles. Next to the church there is an abandoned ground floor building. It celebrates on April 23.
