At the end of June, the "Miaoulia", three-day events dedicated to Admiral Miaoulis, are held, which are part of the celebration of the Naval Week. The events include boat races, swimming races, road races, traditional dances, etc. and conclude with the reenactment of the burning of the Turkish flagship and fireworks. In July, the "International Puppet Festival" is organized. Painting exhibitions and musical events (traditional music festivals, concerts, etc.) are also held throughout the year. Locals and visitors join in and have fun at the Water Carnival, with costumed people roaming the streets of the city, on the last Sunday of Halloween. Easter is also celebrated in a special way in Hydra, where on Good Friday in Kaminia, the epitaph is carried around in the sea and on Easter Sunday Judas is burned. The visitor also has the opportunity to participate in several traditional celebrations and festivals, which retain their authentic folk character, such as the 8 patron Saints of the island on June 24, the Fifteenth of August, the neo-martyr Ag. Constantine of Hydra, patron saint of Hydra (November 14) etc.
