CAVE (Cave) - Antiparos

The Cave of Antiparos is located in the N.E. side of the island, on the hill of Ai Giannis, at a height of 177 m. from the sea. It is of international interest since it has rich stalactite and stalagmite decoration and is associated with important historical events. The cave is cavernous, with an area of ​​5,600 sq.m. and it is known for the huge stalagmite that exists there, which is the oldest in Europe (45 million years). The descent into the cave is made by an iron staircase with 411 steps and its depth reaches 100 meters.
