20 km S. of Anogeia on the plateau of Nida, in Psiloritis, is the sacred cave of Idaios Andros. Here, according to mythology, Rhea hid the infant Zeus, who gave birth to the Diktaeus Andros, to save him from Saturn. Cult objects, statues and bronze shields were found here, as well as other objects that are currently exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion.
