A few minutes by boat from the port is the amazingly beautiful Blue Cave of Kastellorizos, which alone is worth the trip to this remote island. Better known as "Parasta's Cave" or "Fokiali" - from the seals that live inside - it is the largest underwater cave in Greece, one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean and world-renowned for its rich stalactite decoration.
It is located in the southern part of the island and has a length of 75m and a height of 35m. The entrance is comparatively low, at the height of a small boat, so that when it is crowded, hardly anyone can fit in, unsuspecting of the giant dome and the fantastic spectacle it hides.
The calm water of the cave looks like a vast blue-green mirror illuminated by the reflections of the sun's rays entering from the small entrance, presenting a spectacle unique in beauty and charm: A huge palace, with countless stalactites, where one can enjoy a fairy-tale bathroom. The best time to visit is in the morning. Besides the famous Blue Cave, there are four other caves: Fotsaliki, Colones, Arnaouti and Katrantzi.
