City of ancient Magnesia, on the border with Macedonia, built in a strategic position to control Tempi. It flourished mainly during the 4th century BC. In 352 BC passed into Macedonian rule. The ancient city is located near today's Laspohori (Dereli). A low precinct is preserved in the rocky citadel, as well as the city walls. Remains of a theater. An arched temple was excavated on the acropolis, which shows similarities with that of the Gonnos (archaic and late classic clay tiles in the Museum of Volos). Tombs of the geometric (10th - 8th century BC) and classical times (5th - 4th century BC). 1 km west of the village there is an ancient bridge in fairly good condition. Also, a strong wall (4th century BC) was found on Dapi Rachi hill. The settlement also survives in early Byzantine times.
