The Agora of Gytheion according to Pausanias' description was an open space with sanctuaries and decorated with statues of Apollo, Hercules and Dionysus, it extended towards the southeast of the theater, it reached the ancient beach, where part of it has been covered by the sea and west to the foot of the Acropolis, while on the natural slope of the northern side of the hill of the Acropolis, at the current entrance to the city, it is believed that the Apella of the Commons of the Eleftherolakons was located, i.e. that is where the gatherings of the Gytheion took place.
