Traces of human presence and habitation were found in the cave of Rodochori during the Late Neolithic period (5300 - 3200 BC).
The cave of Rodochori is located on the outskirts of Naoussa, near the border with the prefecture of Pella, in a semi-mountainous zone suitable for cultivation and with ideal conditions for grazing herds in spring and summer. In winter, the area is characterized by a lot of snow and low temperatures.
Today it is impossible to enter the interior of the cave.
An excavation was carried out in 1963, while the findings are exhibited in the museum of Veria.
It appears that the configuration of the cave entrance or access to it was different in prehistoric times, or very likely it was in a different location than it is today.
Among the archaeological finds are vases with engraved or colored decoration as well as marble and oyster shells.
