POLYAEGOS (Archaeological Site)

Polyaigos, an uninhabited islet located very close to Kimolos, according to archaeological research, seems to have been inhabited between the Mesolithic and Neolithic times.
Due to its mineral wealth, in the classics, there was a dispute between Milos and Kimolos, because both claimed it. In November 2009, in the sea area of ​​the island of Polyaigos, an underwater preliminary investigation by the Administration of Marine Antiquities identified a shipwreck dating from the end of the 5th to the first half of the 4th century BC, as deduced from the typological analysis of the vessels that (four pointed transport amphorae and two table amphorae)
