Kastri / Geraistos
The sanctuary of Geraistios Poseidon is located on Cape Mantili, which is difficult to reach from land, next to the sheltered bay of today's Kastri settlement. The port of Geraisto offered safe anchorage to ships traveling to the East and the sanctuary was a refuge for beggars.
A building of the late Roman times was excavated with architectural members coming from an older building of the 4th century BC. On a stone plinth there was the inscription "Poseidonos".
