The ancient seaside cemetery of Thassos was discovered in 2004 at about 500 meters from the gate of Sota. These are burials dating from the 2nd century BC. until the 2nd AD century. and cover the northern and eastern border of the D. Myroni plot. The excavated tombs are tile-roofed, box-shaped, as well as free burials of women and children. The stone construction of the box-shaped tombs is rough and carries building material from older monuments. The arrangement of the burials is dense and often the burials overlap.
