Herodotus has characterized the temple of Heraion as the largest in the world. It is considered one of the most important places of worship of the goddess Hera and its archaeological findings, which date back to around the 4th millennium, provide information on the technologies of the ancient era, but also on the way the ancient Samians worshiped their gods.
