It is located at the mouth of the port of Rina.
It is perhaps the best preserved early Christian settlement not only of Kalymnos but also of the entire Greek area, as the buildings are preserved in an impressive condition, up to the height of their roofs in some cases.
In the settlement there are also six early Christian churches. In the western part of the Ellini settlement is the Byzantine church of Panagia Kyra-Hosti with wonderful frescoes, which date from the 11th to the 14th century.
